The National Incubation Center Pakistan serves as an important ‘central inspiration and innovation point’, helping drive ideas to execution and nudge Pakistan towards entrepreneurship. In our efforts to lead the way forward in terms of motivating the youth to be creative and find solutions to commonly shared problems the NIC regularly hosts hackathons and innovation challenges  in the areas of e-commerce, Ed-Tech, Health-Tech, E-Agriculture, Fintech, Robotics, AI, and Machine learning to name a few.

Power to Her Innovation Challenge

The National Incubation Center (NIC Pakistan) and The World Bank are pleased to announce Power to Her, an innovation challenge to find ideas to help increase women participation in the workforce. THE U.S. -PAK INNOVATION EXPO 2023

The U.S.-Pakistan Innovation Expo aimed to celebrate the investments the United States Government has made in Pakistan to promote entrepreneurship, by highlighting successful Pakistani startups that have benefited from USG programs and funding.
 
The program goal was to encourage investor opportunities and leverage potential trade opportunities and business ventures between our two countries.

The National Incubation Center (NIC) Pakistan’s first of its kind and largest Incubation center, is hosting yet another exciting FinTech Hackathon in collaboration with Allied Bank Limited, one of the largest banks in Pakistan. If you are a coder, UI/ UX Expert or a problem-solver with a passion for FinTech, here’s your chance to get a shot at PKR 1 million in prize money.

Plastic Road Project #WorldWithoutWaste

This project has been undertaken by Coca-Cola Pakistan & Afghanistan in partnership with NIC/ Teamup and CDA to make use of plastic waste into re-carpeting of roads.

A launch ceremony was held at the NIC to commemorate the MoU signing between the parties, and later on a small patch of plastic road was tested at the Fatima Jinnah Park located in F-9 sector of Islamabad. Next, a pilot test was done in the Capital Territory at Ataturk Avenue, where about a kilometer’s length of road was re-carpeted using asphalt mixed with plastic waste (composed of PET, PP, HDPE, and PE).

Pakistan has been ranked in the Top 10 countries of the world to be most affected by Climate Change. While the government leads and regulates the environmental sustainability agenda of the country, the responsibility for the conservation of the environment and its resources rests with all stakeholders, including the public and private sector, as well as individuals.

National Hepatitis C Hackathon

We joined hands with Abbott, Ferozsons, Pepsi Co, and Nestle to organize the first of its kind National Hepatitis C hackathon.

Innovators, health hackers, entrepreneurs, social workers, students, and teachers from across Pakistan and the world joined us on a single platform, to share their best ideas for Hepatitis C eradication in the country.

The winners of the hackathon, in addition to bragging rights, got a chance to team up with the top industry experts in this domain, to make a real impact in the health industry, and curb the spread of this disease in Pakistan and the world.

Nutrition Innovation Challenge

This initiative was organized by the NIC, Ignite (MoITT), Jazz & Teamup in collaboration with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN); a global movement in 63 countries that seeks to end malnutrition in all its forms, along with our valuable community and media partners including Engro, i2i, Nspire, FM 101, NIC Karachi, Rizq and others.

The focus of Nutribiz 2021 was on improving the capability and productivity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) working in the food industry. If you are a Startup or SME working in one or more of the given thematic areas.

A Hackathon on Fintech

Hacktivate 4.0 – A hackathon on Fintech took place on the 10th and 11th of April 2021. Our partners included Ignite, Ministry of IT and Telecom, Jazzxlr8 and Teamup along with Allied Bank Limited, Jubilee Life Insurance, NIC Karachi, Tie Islamabad Chapter, ProPakistani, AWS, Next Wallet, ACCA, Daftarkhwan, Mashable Pakistan, TechJuice, FM100 Pakistan Observer, IDG Pakistan, PhoneWorld, PTV World, PTV News, TV One, News One, Waseb, Radio 1 FM 91, Digital Faisalabad and Faisalabad Chamber Of Commerce. This was a ‘2-day long Hackathon’ powered Allied Bank Limited, with ‘Fintech Innovation’ as a key concept.

A Hackathon on Agriculture

A two day event to find practical innovative solutions for the challenges faced in Pakistan’s Agriculture Sector with the goal to expand the implementation of technology in Agriculture by fostering innovation and collaboration, and by connecting key stakeholders via this platform.

Our problem statements were gathered directly from those who operate in the Agriculture space. Based on the problem statements collected by our stakeholders, over 12 thematic areas within the Agri Innovation space were identified.

The world is going through an unprecedented change. Healthcare challenges are affecting the way we act, interact and run our businesses. To take these challenges head-on, NIC Pakistan, TeamUp and Jazz xlr8 in partnership with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (M/o NHSR&C), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America (Open), Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), National Incubation Center Karachi (NIC Karachi), TVOne Pakistan and Association of Pakistani Physicians of Northern Europe (APPNE), are organizing a solution based all-online National Health Hackathon.
